Madison Soccer Club Recreation Program

The Madison Soccer Club Recreation Program is open to all children who live in the towns of Madison and Harding. The Recreation Program is a robust and thriving program that boasts over 650 players across boys and girls teams from kindergarten to 8th grade.

This is a perfect option for players who do not wish to make the commitment necessary for participation in the travel program, or who are still developing the skills necessary to compete at higher levels.

The Recreation Program was developed in partnership with our training staff in accordance with the guidelines set forth by US Soccer. The long-term development of players is key in the success of the national game, and we recognize that this will require hours of commitment and no shortcuts at any level.

The focus of the MSC Recreation Program is on individual player development, emphasizing skills and techniques, through a high number of touches on the ball. Our aim is to foster ability and confidence when in possession of the ball and to give children every opportunity to develop and embrace the game of soccer.

OUR PROGRAM (overview & important dates)

Please check back for schedules and information about the 2017 Recreation season.

*Please note that every team will require a parent coach to organize and coordinate on game day. Please complete the form at http://goo.gl/forms/cCJ8NReo15 if you are interested in supporting this year’s program. See role and responsibility of parent coach, below.

Game times are subject to change depending upon field availability.

Our program relies on the help and support of parent coaches. With over 600 children in last year’s program, participation continues to increase. We will have 44 teams which will require 44 parent coaches!

Your support allows us to run the best recreation program available.

Requirements for parent coaches are as follows:

  • Send out TeamSnap updates
  • Send out TeamSnap game day reminders
  • Distribute uniforms to your team
  • Organize your team on game day
  • Attend all games
  • Attend draft evening (for bracket C, D & E only)

Parent coaches are NOT required to attend weekly practices.

Additional “assistant parent coaches” are encouraged to support the team and will be placed if we have enough volunteers.

Parent coaches and assistant coaches will have their child automatically placed on their team.

Every child will receive a playing/training uniform for the program.

Parent coaches will distribute shortly before the program starts.

All players are required to wear uniform for all practices and games.

We aim to keep the cost for our participants as low as possible. To do this, we are always looking for local business to sponsor a team.

Each team for brackets C-E requires a sponsor.

Sponsor logo will be prominently displayed on the team uniform.
